The University of Northern Iowa is a regionally accredited institution of higher learning which offers graduate correspondence courses to prisoners. While no degrees are offered, courses are all paper-based and available in the family studies, physical education, religion, and social work fields. They charge $218 per credit hour, and incarcerated students have 9 months to complete each correspondence course. There is also a $10 application fee.
The University of Northern Iowa also offers correspondence courses for prisoners at the undergraduate level.
