The Federal Bureau of Prisons‘ South Central Regional Office is responsible for supervising federal prisons in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The office is located in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The South Central Region of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) administers and supervises all area federal prisons. This role includes ensuring that these facilities comply with all federal laws and regulations. The BOP’s Central Office in Washington, DC, supervises this office.
The Regional Director is responsible for the overall operation of the districts, including the supervision of wardens and other prison staff. They also oversee the development and implementation of programs and services for inmates, such as education, job training, religious services, and residential reentry contracting. The regional office works with state and local officials to ensure that federal prisoners are safely housed in state and local facilities when necessary.
