Coleman I USP

United States Penitentiary Coleman I is a high-security federal prison in Coleman, Florida. It is part of the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex. The facility is located in Sumter County, in the town of Sumterville, Florida. This facility is in central Florida, approximately 50 miles northwest of Orlando and 60 miles northeast of Tampa.

USP Coleman I offers various services to inmates, including:

Inmates at the facility report significant violence and gang activity. Sex offenders, informants, and LGBT inmates may find the facility not safe.

Coleman II USP

United States Penitentiary Coleman II is a high-security federal prison in Coleman, Florida. It is in central Florida, approximately 50 miles northwest of Orlando and 60 miles northeast of Tampa.

USP Coleman II is informally known as a special needs facility. While a high-security federal prison, the facility houses many inmates convicted of sexual offenses and otherwise vulnerable inmates. Inmates report limited gang activity and violence. As such, high-security inmates convicted of sexual offenses often seek placement at USP Coleman I.

USP Coleman II inmates must work in assigned prison work details. They may pursue educational, vocational, and self-enrichment programs.

Coleman Medium FCI

Federal Correctional Institution Coleman Medium is a medium-security prison for male offenders. It is in Sumter County in Sumterville, Florida. The prison is part of the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex. It is in central Florida, approximately 50 miles northwest of Orlando and 60 miles northeast of Tampa.

All inmates can pursue educational and self-enrichment programs while at FCI Coleman Medium. Additionally, every prisoner must hold a prison job. Inmates may spend their wages at the facility’s commissary. Food, clothing, and personal hygiene items can be purchased at the commissary.

Coleman Low FCI

Federal Correctional Institution Coleman Low is a low-security prison for male offenders in Sumter County in Sumterville, Florida. The correctional institution is part of the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex. It is in central Florida, approximately 60 miles northeast of Tampa and 50 miles northwest of Orlando.

The staff-to-inmate ratio is lower than high-security institutions such as nearby USP Coleman I and II. Even so, double-fencing surrounds the institution. Inmates must participate in an assigned prison work detail. Prisoners may also pursue educational and self-improvement goals.

Coleman Prison Camp

Federal Correctional Institution Coleman Camp is a minimum-security prison camp for female inmates. The facility is located in Sumter County in Sumterville, Florida.

The institution is part of the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex. The facility is located in central Florida. It is approximately 35 miles south of Ocala, 50 miles northwest of Orlando, and 60 miles northeast of Tampa.

Only nonviolent inmates are housed at this facility. They must work in jobs that support facility operations. In addition, they can participate in educational and other enrichment programs.

Marianna FCI

Federal Correctional Institution Marianna is a medium-security federal prison for male inmates. It is in Jackson County near Marianna, Florida, approximately 65 miles west of Tallahassee, Florida. A minimum-security prison camp for female offenders is located adjacent to the primary institution.

FCI Marianna is a Sex Offender Management Program (SOMP) facility. Approximately 40 percent of the inmate population has been convicted of a current or prior sexual offense. Inmates convicted of sexual crimes will find this facility an easy place to serve time.

The prison is a Medical Care Level 2 facility. The institution can meet the needs of inmates generally in good health. These inmates may require regular clinical evaluation for chronic conditions such as epilepsy or emphysema.

Marianna Prison Camp

Federal Correctional Institution Marianna Camp is a minimum-security prison camp for female inmates. Inmates reside in dormitory-style housing.

Prison jobs are available in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, and others. Inmates can pursue educational, vocational, and self-enrichment goals while incarcerated at this facility. Minimum-security federal prison camps do not house sex offenders.

Miami FCI

Federal Correctional Institution Miami is a low-security federal prison for male inmates. It is located in Dade County, Florida, about 30 miles from downtown Miami.

The prison first served as a holding center for youth offenders in the 1970s. Its landscape, which contains a lake at its center, differs from other Florida federal prisons.

Former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega was housed at FCI Miami when the prison was an administrative detention center. Despite its low-security designation, inmates must maintain prison jobs. They may also pursue educational and self-improvement activities while incarcerated.

Miami Prison Camp

Federal Correctional Institution Miami Camp is a minimum-security prison camp for male inmates. It is adjacent to the low-security FCI Miami prison and often houses offenders from the local area.

Inmates are housed in dormitories and sleep in bunk beds. FCI Miami Camp prisoners must maintain prison jobs. They can also participate in educational and personal enrichment programs. Additionally, inmates can access recreation facilities and watch television.

Miami FDC

Federal Detention Center Miami is an administrative security detention center for male and female inmates. The facility is located in downtown Miami, Florida.

Many inmates housed at the facility are awaiting trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Detainees do not typically spend extended periods at FDC Miami. They are usually released or reassigned to other facilities when their cases conclude.

Pensacola FPC

Federal Prison Camp Pensacola is a minimum-security prison camp for male inmates in Pensacola, Florida. The prison camp is on Naval Air Station Pensacola. Inmates reside in dormitory-style housing.

All inmates must hold prison jobs and can participate in educational and self-improvement programs. Inmates also have access to recreation facilities.

FPC Pensacola is regularly featured on lists for the easiest places to serve time. As such, it is a sought-after facility for placement.

Tallahassee FCI

Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee is a low-security federal prison serving female inmates. Inmates are housed in a dormitory setting, within two- and three-person cubicles.

The prison opened in 1938. It is located in the state capital of Tallahassee, Florida. An adjacent detention center holds male administrative security-level detainees. These detainees live in cells.
