Criminal Justice Caucus – Removing the Bars – Take Action

On March 23rd and 24th, 2012, the Criminal Justice Caucus will be holding a conference entitled “Removing the Bars-Take Action.”

This event is an interdisciplinary community event held at Columbia University School of Social Work and in collaboration with students from various law schools, teachers, colleges, social workers, and other criminal justice social workers.

Included in this powerhouse of a conference are keynote speakers, round table discussions and presentations, and various workshops.

The caucus hopes to inspire student and faculty interest and involvement in constructive criminal justice curricular and extra-curricular endeavors, at the social work school and the university as a whole.

Panel discussions and workshops include:

  • Know Your Rights & Reentry
  • Aging Behind Bars

  • Society’s Perspective of the Formerly Incarcerated

  • Role of Education Inside Prison an in Successful Reentry

…and many more workshops related to improving the health of the criminal justice system.
