Southeast Regional Office
The Federal Bureau of Prisons‘ Southeast Regional Office is one of seven regional offices. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the office is responsible for the supervision of federal prisons in these states:

The Federal Bureau of Prisons‘ Southeast Regional Office is tasked with various oversight responsibilities, including:
- Ensuring facility policy compliance
- Adjudicating administrative remedies filed by inmates
- Developing and mandating employee training
- Conducting periodic facility examinations
- Supervising residential reentry management contracts and operations
The Southeast of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is responsible for administering and supervising all federal prisons located in the region. This includes ensuring that these prisons comply with all federal laws and federal prison regulations. The BOP’s Central Office in Washington, DC, supervises this office.
Every federal prison has a warden responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility. The Regional Director oversees these wardens and is accountable for the overall operation of the southeast region of the United States. The Deputy Regional Director assists the Regional Director in administering the area. There is also a Chief Counsel responsible for providing legal advice to the Regional Director and staff.
